Valerie Larson, MD, PhD attended college at Yale University, where she graduated summa cum laude with combined bachelor’s and master’s degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. Dr. Larson earned her MD and PhD degrees as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, graduating in 2019. After an internship in internal medicine at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey, Dr. Larson completed her dermatology residency at New York University Medical Center from 2020 to 2023, serving as a chief resident during her final year. She went on to complete fellowship training in dermatopathology at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Larson has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and given poster and platform presentations at conferences including the American Society of Dermatopathology and International Society of Dermatopathology annual meetings. In addition to her work in dermatopathology, she will be serving as a voluntary faculty member working with dermatology residents at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
